The course is mainly focused on the introduction of the basic technologies and their application from decision makers to specific practical problems. The course covers topics such as fundamentals of discrete probabilities, continues probability distributions and their applications, regression models, decision making in the discrete space (results tables, utility functions, decision trees), decision making in the continues space (risk analysis, risk diversity), application of linear models in decision making and statistical tests. Practical examples are also provided from the market, economy and management.
The course is provided in the Interuniversity Postgraduate Programme on ‘Tehno-Economical Systems’ by the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens and the University of Piraeus.
