Radar Systems and Remote Sensing

  •  Principles of radar systems. Radar equation. Detection theory for radar systems.
  • Principles from scattering theory for radar targets (Physical Optics, Boundary Conditions, Geometrical Optics, Geometrical theory of Diffraction, Scattering from cylinder and sphere etc.)
  • Coherent radar systems: CW radar, CW-FM radar, MTI radar, SAR radar.
  • Radar signal processing: matched filter, measurement errors, ambiguity function.
